Over the years I’ve found it increasingly hard to decide what to buy my family and friends for Christmas. In some cases it’s because I’ve already bought them what they like over the years and don’t want to keep purchasing the same products, and others it’s where they now have a family of their own and I have no idea what gifts to buy for children. The three types of people I’m finding it hard to decide on what to buy for Christmas at the moment are children, friends and those people who have everything as it’s even harder to think of something that they don’t already have, so I’ve teamed up with UncommonGoods to help with ideas! If you haven’t heard of UncommonGoods before they offer unique and interesting gifts which are sustainable and handmade. They also feature some products which are made from recycled items and have never sold any products containing feather, fur or leather as they are committed to selling products that don’t have an impact on people or animals.
I’ve been browsing their website and found a few great unique ideas for Christmas for those that I’m struggling to buy for this so hopefully this will help you too!
2018 Birth Year Box – Do you know someone who is expecting next year and you want to buy them something more special, then this would be a lovely gift. It’s the year of the dog next year and according to Chinese tradition this means that babies born during that year will be efficient, constructive and devoted to their ideals. It’s such a special gift and can be used to store memories such as photos and their first pair of little booties.
Personalised If My Dog Could Talk Book – Personalised gifts are always a little bit more special and this book would be perfect if the child you are buying this for has a dog, however there are a wide range of personalised books available. Even now I wonder what my dog would say if she could talk, so this is quite an amusing story about what would happen and is a great gift for children.
Custom Beach Heart Necklace – There’s always at least one person you know who has everything, so deciding what to get them for Christmas is extremely hard. Customised gifts are perfect as it’s very unlikely that it’s something they will already have and this necklace is very beautiful. The pendant displays sand granules from a choice of over 1800 shorelines around the world, so maybe there’s a beach which has a special place in their heart, or their favourite holiday destination which would make this perfect for them!
Larry the Llama Doormat – Homeware items make great presents and I fell in love with this adorable doormat featuring Larry the Llama. This would be a fun and quirky addition to any home and I can’t think of anyone who wouldn’t love this, I’m actually tempted to purchase this for myself.
Build Your Own Robot Kit – Fun items always go down well as gift ideas for friends and these robots are adorable characters and also enjoyable to make, I think it could be a really lovely idea to buy a few of your friends these and then make them together.
Downhill Ducky – The last gift idea I wanted to share is on of my favourites and is this adorable duck figurine hand-carved from sustainable bamboo and reclaimed teak. You don’t have to be a ski fanatic to love this adorable duck!
They are all my gift ideas for those who I’m struggling to buy for this Christmas, if you’re stuck with ideas too or are just looking for something a little more special then I’d definitely recommend checking out their website. If you do purchase anything from UnncommonGoods they have a ‘Better to Give’ programme which allows all customers at the checkout to choose a non-profit organisation in which UncommonGoods will donate $1, and yes they are based in the US but they do ship to the UK!
