This months theme for the February Birchbox is ‘Shine Bright Like a Diamond’, and there are two very exciting competitions. One lucky person will find a diamond necklace worth £200 in their Birchbox, however if you’re not the lucky winner then you can share a photo of your Birchbox on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook tagging @BirchboxUK and @VashiUK with the hashtag #BirchboxUK to win one!
I was very excited when I spotted this Tapered Powder Brush from Spectrum Collections inside as it is absolutely beautiful and hadn’t previously tried anything from them before. It’s incredibly soft and has a precisely-shaped tip, I love to use it to apply bronzer and highlighter as it’s the perfect size and shape. It’s also perfect for achieving a natural contour!
Next is one of my favourite ever skincare products, the Truth Serum Collagen Booster from Ole Henriksen. This is a brand that I discovered a few months ago and fell in love with, their serum is my favourite product that I have tried from them and gives my skin a healthy glow and helps to protect it. I’m excited to start using this product again as I’ve recently finished my last bottle. Now onto a brand I had never heard of before, Ayres. This is their Body Butter in Patagonia which has a plant-based formula and lots of skin nourishing ingredients such as Viamin E, shea butter and antioxidants. It’s not sticky and sinks into the skin quickly, just a lovely body butter.
The LOC One and Done Shadow Stick is very exciting as it is Birchbox’s first in-house makeup brand! I received this in the shade ‘The Silver Smoke’ which has a beautiful metallic hue and is gorgeous when creating a classic smokey eye look. I used this for the first time a few days ago and am excited to tell you that it didn’t crease throughout the day and is very creamy therefore easy to apply and blend. Moving onto the Frat Boy Blush/Shadow from the Balm cosmetics, I’ve heard a lot of hype surrounding this brand however had never got round to trying them out for myself. It’s packaged so cute and is a beautiful shade which gives a rosy glow, even though it’s very small it is extremely pigmented so you only need to use a tiny amount. The last item is the Grab & Go Ponytail Holder from L.Erickson. I have very long hair and a lot of hairbands tend to rip out my hair which is not good at all so was excited to put this to the test! I’ve used it a few times now and have had no problems with it pulling out my hair!
Overall I love this months Birchbox, there are some exciting brands and products included. Let me know your thoughts too on this months box!
