Afternoon Tea with the Tigers

The other week I headed to Paradise Wildlife Park for an experience to have afternoon tea with the tigers which gives you the chance to get up close and personal, whilst enjoying some delicious food. If you know me then you will know that I love wildlife parks, seeing all of the amazing animals and learning new things about them that I might not have known before. When I first arrived we were told more about the charity (Zoological Society of Hertfordshire) which raises funds to support wildlife conservation projects not just in the UK but around the world, then after this our tour guide took us around the park. Our tour guide was really informative and talked us through most of the animals and was honest about the parks previous reputation which was quite bad, however he answered any questions that we had about this and explained everything they have done since to improve the welfare of the animals and are continuing to do in the future. After the tour of the wildlife park it was time to meet the tigers and enjoy some delicious afternoon tea, there was a good selection to choose from including sandwiches, cakes, scones and other desserts. The carrot cake was my personal favourite and you could help yourself to as much as you wanted which was really lovely. The area where you enjoy the afternoon tea is in the Treetops Cafe and there is a large glass window where you can view the tigers on a platform and they were incredibly close. I’ve always loved tigers however had never seen them this close before and it was amazing. It was an amazing experience and like nothing that I had ever done before, it reminded me of the book ‘The Tiger Who Came To Tea’ which was one of my favourites when I was very young. This really is a great experience for all ages to enjoy as it’s perfect for both adults and children.Afterwards I met up with Aaron and had a wander around the park filling him in on all of the interesting facts that I had learnt such as the park had rescued several of their animals including the white tiger who was saved from the circus. I had a lovely time at Paradise Wildlife Park with Red Letter Days and it was a great day out eat delicious food and seeing all amazing animals.
