Alchemy Grapefuit Hair Remedy Review

As I dye my hair I love trying out new hair oils and products as I like to keep my hair in the best condition that I can. Alchemy’s Grapefruit Hair Remedy* is made with a blend of five oils; Coconut, Caster Oil, Almond, Avocado and Grapefruit Oil. These strengthen and improve the condition of the hair as well as fight dandruff, promote growth and thicken hair. I have used Coconut Oil before and love it so was excited that this was included.

You can use this oil in two different ways, first is as an everyday treatment in which you apply onto the ends of towel dried hair then style as normal. The first time I did this the ends were really greasy but I used a tiny bit the next time and it was find, left the ends of my hair soft. If you feel that your hair needs some extra love this can be used as a more intense treatment. You apply the oil onto dry hair and rub into your head, I like to then tie my hair up and put on a shower cap. Wait 20 minutes or longer if you wanted, you can actually have it in your hair overnight but I would find it too uncomfortable. It washes out fairly easy with shampoo however as I have long hair I like to double wash it to make sure it’s all out, also it doesn’t leave a greasy residue.

After a few weeks of use the ends of my hair look is good condition and I have no split ends, I can see it continuing to improve the condition of my hair. The remedy itself smells of grapefruit which is lovely and refreshing without being overpowering, the scent actually stays on your hair all day which I love. I do like the look of the glass bottle as it’s unique with cork topper, however I shower a lot at the gym and am a bit worried about taking it with me as I don’t know how secure the topper actually is. Even though the bottle isn’t practical it’s easy enough to decant. It retails at £17.99 so is a bit more on the pricey side of hair treatments but I think it will last me around 4 months.

Have you tried out hair oils before?

I love using coconut oil and almond oil as a hair treatment, so I can image this would be such a treat for dry hair! The bottle is so cute too.
