Benefit Review: “Confessions of a Concealaholic”

Everything you need to conceal in a cute little kit, that pretty much sums it up! What I love about Benefit makeup kits is that you get to try out a few different products to see what works for you before buying the full size product, which is great as it’s such a waste of money spending a lot on something that doesn’t even work for your skin.

“that gal” Brightening Face Primer

Now this smells like bubble gum which I love, it’s creamy with a pink tint to it and is a lovely texture. Now when I applied this to my skin it gave me a lovely glow and dried very quickly, however this did not keep my makeup in place. My makeup faded after a few hours and my skin looked quite oily, which is a shame as when it has first been applied it looks really nice, but unfortunately this product did not work for me and I won’t be repurchasing.

Erase Paste
This has a peach undertone and neutralises dark patches on your face, such as under the eye area. It’s quick a thick consistency but I like that. It does exactly as described and stays put all day! The shade I had in the kit was #2 and even though I am pale, it still worked very well. If I was to buy this again I might try it in shade #1 as it might suit my skin tone better.

Boi-ing Concealer
Now this I love! It’s not that good under the eye area, but that’s what you’ve got erase paste for, and it does wonders on blemishes on my skin. That said I do use it under my eye area after erase paste just to brighten it up a little. The two shades included in this kit are #1 and #2. I have found I am somewhere in between but it’s very easy to mix the two together to get your correct skin tone.

Eye Bright and Lemon Aid
This is perfect for the inner corners of your eyes, it really does make a difference and brightens them up. Lemon Aid amazing and I use it as a base for my eye shadows and works perfectly. I have found that you can also use this on it’s own if you want to not wear as much makeup, it brightens up eyes and reduces redness and discolorations.

Brushes
The brushes are all a little stiff and make application a bit hard so I would recommend using your own. If you’re new to concealing, use the brushes to apply the concealer to your face and use your fingertips to blend.

Overall I love this kit, the only thing I’m not that over keen on is the “that gal” face primer, I’m actually yet to find one that I love but plan on purchasing Benefits the POREfessional and seeing what that’s like. I have read that a lot of you rate it highly! If you’ve tried it before, let me know what you thought of it.

I love this set, you really get value for money too as it lasts ages. I used it up as much as I could but still had to replace it as I had been using it a bit too long! I agree on the primer though it should have porefessional instead.

You can try out all their products in store, and if you want to try something such as their foundation or primer, if you ask them for a sample they will put it some in a little pot for you to take home and try (normally about 3 uses worth) :) x

I got the smaller concealer box and regret it, not because I don't like it but because for an extra £5 I could have got a lot more in this box!
