Bioderma Skincare | First Impressions

The past couple of years I’ve started to take my skincare more seriously, establishing a routine and incorporating products designed to target my skincare needs. I have sensitive and oily skin so these are my main concerns that I target. Over the past few weeks I’ve been trying out a few products from Bioderma so I wanted to share my first impressions and thoughts on these products. If you’re not familiar with Bioderma they are a classic favourite in French pharmacy and aim to target a variety of skin types and concerns.

Bioderma Pigmentbio Daily Care SPF 50+

Bioderma Pigmentbio Daily Care SPF 50+

If you’re not already using a daily SPF in your skincare routine then you need to add one, especially if you’re using any retinol or acid facial products as they make your skin more sensitive to the sun. Using sun protection helps to prevent hyperpigmentation and the signs on ageing, the earlier you incorporate it into your daily skin care routine the better. The Bioderma Pigmentbio Daily Care SPF 50+ doesn’t just protect your skin from UV rays but it also contains a trio of vitamins E and C which offer antioxidant protection, designed to target dull and hyperpigmented skin.

I’ve tried quite a few SPFs and they are normally quite greasy on the skin, however this sinks into the skin quickly and leaves no greasy or oily residue so you can wear it underneath makeup. It contains a combination of active ingredients that correct hyperpigmentation by reducing the look of existing dark spots and preventing new ones from reappearing. I’m interested to see the results of using this product over a longer period of time as I’ve been enjoying it over the past few weeks.

Bioderma Sensibio H2O Micelle Solution

Bioderma Sensibio H2O Micelle Solution

You might be familiar with the Bioderma micellar waters as they are one of the most coveted products and are all-in-one cleansing solutions suitable for all skin types. This is a product that I had previously used for years, so I can give you more than a first impression. As I have sensitive skin I’ve been using the Bioderma Sensibio H2O Micelle Solution, however they are additional solutions for different skin types. I’m not sure why I ever stopped using this product as it’s amazing and is quickly becoming a staple in my skincare routine. It’s genuinely the most gentle micellar water I’ve ever used! I soak a cotton wool pad with this solution then wipe all over my face including my eyes to remove all traces of makeup. It removes makeup easily and you only need to hold it on your eyes for a few seconds to remove eye makeup.

Bioderma Sensibio Soothing Micellar Cleansing Foaming Gel

Another product from the Sensibio range which is aimed at sensitive skin is the Bioderma Sensibio Soothing Micellar Cleansing Foaming Gel. Similarly to the micelle solution, it’s extremely gentle and mild. In the short amount of time that I’ve been using this cleanser I’ve found that it soothes irritation and helps to calm my skin. It leaves my skin feeling hydrated and soft, ready to apply my serums and creams. It’s a soap-free face wash which you apply to wet skin and work into a creamy-textured foam. If you have sensitive skin or redness-prone skin then you’ll enjoy this cleanser, I love that it soothes my skin before applying the rest of my products.

Overall I’ve been really impressed with these products from Bioderma and will continue to use them over the next few months to see any further improvements in my skin. I’d love to know if you’ve tried out any products from Bioderma.
