Christmas is literally around the corner so I thought that I would share with you the Christmas edition of one of my favourite subscription boxes – Degustabox! Even though I have been receiving this for the past few months I’m just going to quickly repeat myself about what Degustabox is for those who may have missed my previous posts. It’s a monthly food subscription box (£12.99) in which a selection of different products from both new and established brands are delivered to your door each month!
Starting with the drinks there were only two included this month; Baileys which is an Irish whiskey and cream based liqueur, and a dry apple cider from Rekorderlig. I don’t like the taste of cider so gave this to my boyfriend who loved it, he said it tasted lovely and was refreshing. A product related to drinks are the Teisseire Gourmet Drops in vanilla and caramel, you can add these to coffee to add taste however I used mine in hot chocolate which was delicious. My favourite was the vanilla flavour and I absolutely love the concept of these, they remind me of the little concentrated squashes that you can buy which look similar. What more could you want then a little bar of Divine chocolate to enjoy with a hot chocolate?! This one is 70% dark chocolate and contains raspberries which is a lovely combination.
I have noticed that there are normally crackers or something similar included each month which I quite like, and this time there were Green & Black Olive Crackers and Cheddar & Cracked Black Pepper flatbreads both from Ryvita. I prefer the flatbreads and enjoy either dipping them in a salsa or cream cheese. Another healthy snack which are great for on the go are the Belvita Breakfast Soft Bakes, these are something that I have heard a lot about but had never tried. They’re actually more delicious than I expected them to be and loved the red berries flavour. The next product I associate with Christmas as we always have these at this time of year and it’s british baby beetroot from Bourne & Wallis. On boxing day we always have leftover turkey, sausage rolls, quiche, salad, etc and there is always beetroot.I had to contain my excited when I noticed the Hartley’s strawberry glitter jelly, I had no idea that this existed and it’s literally amazing. Yes it’s essentially the same as ordinary jelly however it’s glittery which looks amazing and is perfect for the festive season. Also included was a black cherry jelly which is delicious, I’m a big lover of jelly as you may be able to tell! Moving onto one of my favourite snacks to enjoy with a movie, Butterkist Popcorn! My favourite flavour is actually toffee however the salted caramel and sweet & salted are both delicious too. If you are gluten free then there is the Jim Jams hazelnut chocolate spread which tastes delicious, I love it melted on toast. Then the last ‘sweet treat’ is the Food Thoughts Cocoa which makes a delicious hot chocolate, perfect to have whilst enjoying a Christmas movie snuggled in a blanket.
A healthier snack option is the Nims Pineapple & Mango fruit crisps, these are one of your five a day and perfect if you want a quick snack that is also nutritious. The last product included is the Branston Orchard Fruit Chutney, I’m a lover of having chutney in cheese and ham baguettes and will definitely be enjoying with lunch.
I’m really happy with everything that was included in the Christmas Degustabox and the contents have nearly all been demolished already! If you’re interested in trying out this monthly food subscription box then you can use the code BLDEG15 to receive a £6 discount. Let me know what you think of all the products included this month!

Glitter jelly? Never heard of that, you have to make it and show me!
