Dolce* is the new fragrance by Dolce & Gabbana, it’s a feminine, fresh and delicate scent defined by the White Amaryllis which has never been used before in a scent. Dolce represents a sensual and emotional journey through Sicily which is the origin and inspiration of Dolce & Gabbanna. Ever since I saw the amazing advert for this fragrance I wanted to try it out!
When I first used this it seemed strong, however within a few seconds it turned into a very calming, soft floral scent. As it is an Eau de Parfum it is more concentrated therefore lasts longer on the skin, therefore does not need to be reapplied as much throughout the day. It lasts about 5-6 hours on your skin which is incredibly good for a fragrance. It has top notes of Neroli Leaves and Papaya Flower, middle notes of White Amaryllis, White Daffofil and White Water Lily, and base notes of Cashmeran, Sandalwood and Musk. It’s available in two sizes: 50ml (£56.99) and 75ml (£67.99) for the Eau de Parfum.
The packaging is an elegant and playful flower topped glass bottle, it put an instant smile on my face. The flower top pays tribute to Sicilian customs, crafted to portray the marzipan sculptures seen in traditional Sicilian confectioners. The black bow conjures images of the white shirts and bow-ties that were a signature of early Dolce & Gabbana catwalk shows. The most personal touch of this bottle is the ‘Dolce’ in black script which is actually a replica of Domenico Dolce’s fathers own signature.
I have fallen head over heels for Dolce, it is a perfect fragrance for spring and summer and is light enough to use every day.
