We’re kicking off the first Christmas post of 2019 with an amazing alternative to the traditional chocolate advent calendars! As you might already know from previous blog posts, I’m a huge whisky fan and this year Drinks By The Dram have released their Whisky Explorer Advent Calendar. I’ve been lucky enough to indulge in their advent calendars in the past and they never fail to disappoint, so I was very excited to share one of this years releases which is beautifully designed with the wood effect and illustration. This year they have gone all out on the presentation of the calendars and it hasn’t gone unnoticed as they all look incredible, this is definitely my favourite design they’ve done so far.
Every day in the lead up to Christmas you can discover a different wax-sealed 30ml dram of whisky (24 in total) behind each door by 21 distilleries from 5 countries, with exciting drams from some of the world’s best distilleries. It’s a brilliant way to not only enjoy a great variety of whiskies, but you will find many that you have never tried before. There are also other drams that might be very expensive if you were to buy the whole bottle, so it’s a great way to be able to enjoy them (especially if you were planning on splurging on a full-sized bottle). As I don’t want to spoil any surprises for anyone I’m not going to list all the different drams which are included, but I will share a couple in the photos. However you can find out the full list on their website if you’re interested.
Without spoiling too much I can tell you that it includes everything from Scottish special reserves, to brilliant bourbons and award-winning whiskies from famous distilleries. It’s up to you whether to keep the drams a surprise or not! Incase you’ve enjoyed this advent calendar in previous years you’ll be glad to hear that they are not the same selection of drams, they have all been handpicked specifically for this year’s releases.
