Festive Dinner Party

img_1956One of my favourite things about this time of year are festive dinner parties, it’s so lovely to have all your loved ones round for an evening full of delicious food and games. This time of year means there are more opportunities for others to come over for dinner and now that I have moved into my new house I will be throwing a few dinner parties. I always make sure the house is extra clean and tidy before setting the table and I love to make a little more effort than needed as it’s more special and everyone always appreciates it.img_1963 As it’s the festive period I used these penguin table mats which are adorable with Christmas crackers as you can’t have a festive dinner party without crackers right?! I also added cinnamon sticks, pinecones and a few other decorations to make it look pretty. You only need a few items to make a really beautiful display. Candles make great decorations and smell amazing so your guests will be greeted through the door with incredible scents, the candles and accessories I used are from the Yankee Candle Holiday Collection. It’s nice to have a centrepiece for the table and thought that the Christmas tree candle holder would be perfect to place in the middle next to this cute little star tea light holder. They both have the Macaron scented tea light candles which has notes of vanilla, almond and sugar so it’s a very sweet scent.img_1977The other candles I placed on the table from the collection are All is Bright, Festive Cocktail and Star Anise & Orange. All is Bright is described as sparkling citrus scents drifting on a warm musk, Festive Cocktail smells like cranberry and blackcurrant mixed with pine and vanilla, and Star Anise & Orange is fresh orange with sweet anise, a lovely refreshing scent. They all look and smell festive and I couldn’t resist popping a little Christmas tree on the table too.img_1961These noel, cheer and joy votive holders glow when the candles are lit which is beautiful and a lovely touch for the table. When the table is finished all that is left is the food! This table setting is lovely for dinner parties throughout the festive season or even for Christmas day, I had a lot of compliments on how festive and beautiful everything was and it’s great to treat friends and family to a lovely evening.

This looks so adorable, seems like did an excellent job! The Noel, Cheer & Joy candles are just beautiful – i’d love to get my hands on some for my own christmas table.
As always, a lovely post Rebecca. It felt so cozy!
