Recently I’ve been trying out quite a few products from Kiko as a store opened up near me which means I can’t pop into the city centre without picking something up from them. Walking past their store reminds me of walking past a sweet shop when I was a child, so much temptation which is too hard to resist! I picked up the Kiko Colour-Up Long Lasting Eyeshadow Sticks (£7.90) in shade 10 which is a pearlescent rosy taupe and shade 31 which is a shimmery deep sea blue.
The packaging is beautiful with a gold accents and the outside reflects the colour of the eyeshadow which is a nice little touch as you instantly know what shade you are about to use without having to take the lids off to check. It’s a twist up style pen so there is no need to sharpen and means you can easily apply the colour in the crease as it’s pointed.
These shades are both richly pigmented and the formula is very creamy, you only need to use a light touch to apply the eyeshadow and it glides on easily without any tugging. These eyeshadows dry very quickly after application which is bitter-sweet as it lasts all day without budging, but also means that once applied you need to blend quickly. I’ve found that I needed to use an eye makeup remover with oil to remove this at the end of the day as when I tried to remove the eyeshadow with micellar water it involved a little too much rubbing, definitely not good for your eyes! On the other hand, if you use an eyeshadow primer underneath you shouldn’t have too much trouble removing it with micellar water.
Overall I do really like these as they are amazingly pigmented and the quality is great, however since they dry quickly and are not the easiest to remove I’d only recommend them if this is something that doesn’t bother you. Personally I don’t mind since they are so long lasting and I always use an eye primer so taking off my makeup isn’t a problem. If you have been after eyeshadows that won’t budge all day then these may be exactly what you are looking for!

These look so pretty, especially the taupe shade :) I know what you mean about it being bittersweet – long lasting vs having to work at the speed of lightening to blend it! xx
