Laura Mercier Silk Creme Oil Free Foundation

Laura Mercier Silk Creme Oil Free Foundation ReviewEver since Laura Mercier released an oil free version of their silk creme foundation I have been eager to try it out, recently I took the plunge and purchased the shade cream ivory. I ordered it online so was a little worried that I had ordered the wrong shade especially since it was £35, however it was a perfect match for me.Laura Mercier Silk Creme Oil Free Foundation Swatch Cream IvoryThe consistency is quite thick so it’s hard to blend with a brush, however if you use a sponge (which it recommends) such as a beauty blender it blends perfectly and creates a flawless finish. It’s a medium to high coverage foundation with a matte finish so I tend to use it more for events and special occasions rather than for everyday use. Normally I find it hard to find foundations that are long lasting as my skin is very oily so within a few hours my foundation has normally disappeared, however this lasts all day and doesn’t even budge on hot days which is incredible. I really wish that all foundations came in a tube packaging as it’s smaller and lightweight for travelling and is so much more hygienic in comparison to bottles, also I find that I waste a lot less foundation as you can easily dispense the correct amount that you need.

As you can probably tell I have fallen in love with this foundation, it ticks all of the boxes! The Laura Mercier Silk Creme Oil Free Foundation is the best foundation I have tried in terms of achieving a flawless finish, I don’t know what I did without this in my life before! It really is amazing and works perfectly for my oily skin, I’d definitely recommend trying this out especially if your skin type is similar to mine.

This seems to be a great foundation! Like you, I have very oily skin and I struggle to find a foundation that lasts. I’d like to try a high end foundation at some point, and I’ll keep this post in a corner of my head when I choose one – Laura Mercier is said to be a very good brand anyways so I probably won’t be disappointed!

Fab post hun, I’d been intrigued by this since they introduced the oil free version. I do hate a thick consistency and agree are easier to work with a beauty blender, but this does sound pretty fab! I think this is needed :)

My skin is quite dry but I want to try the regular silk creme foundation :) I love Laura Mercier’s bases, the tinted moisturizer is my all time favourite.

Doesn’t budge on hot days? SOLD. It’s terrible to have foundation that budges, especially if you’ve got oily skin and you live in an equatorial country. Shinier than glitter. Have a lovely week!

Foundation normally always budges on me because I have oily skin, so I am SOOOOO happy that this doesn’t!!

This sounds really good, is it similar to Estee Lauder Double Wear? Sounds like it :) I used to have trouble with foundation staying on but use a makeup fixing spray which has helped so much! So could be worth trying that if you haven’t already.

I actually didn’t like the Estee Lauder Double Wear, this is much easier to blend and look more natural on the skin however coverage is similar :) I haven’t tried one of them before, I’ll definitely pick one up thanks!
