Ever since Laura Mercier released an oil free version of their silk creme foundation I have been eager to try it out, recently I took the plunge and purchased the shade cream ivory. I ordered it online so was a little worried that I had ordered the wrong shade especially since it was £35, however it was a perfect match for me.The consistency is quite thick so it’s hard to blend with a brush, however if you use a sponge (which it recommends) such as a beauty blender it blends perfectly and creates a flawless finish. It’s a medium to high coverage foundation with a matte finish so I tend to use it more for events and special occasions rather than for everyday use. Normally I find it hard to find foundations that are long lasting as my skin is very oily so within a few hours my foundation has normally disappeared, however this lasts all day and doesn’t even budge on hot days which is incredible. I really wish that all foundations came in a tube packaging as it’s smaller and lightweight for travelling and is so much more hygienic in comparison to bottles, also I find that I waste a lot less foundation as you can easily dispense the correct amount that you need.
As you can probably tell I have fallen in love with this foundation, it ticks all of the boxes! The Laura Mercier Silk Creme Oil Free Foundation is the best foundation I have tried in terms of achieving a flawless finish, I don’t know what I did without this in my life before! It really is amazing and works perfectly for my oily skin, I’d definitely recommend trying this out especially if your skin type is similar to mine.
