MAC Nutcracker Sweet Collection

A little bit of sugar and spice, the MAC Nutcracker Sweet Collection is beautiful and packaged in confectionary hues and shades that range from soft pinks to rich jewels. All of the packaging has shades of pink and purple with polka dots and stripes, it’s very eye catching and beautiful plus the gold detailing is a lovely touch. There are two sets that I want to share with you starting with the MAC Nutcracker Sweet Red Retro Matte Kit which contains two beautiful lipsticks and a mascara in a beautiful star cosmetic bag.The first lipstick included in the set is the MAC Nutcracker Rouge which is a warm red with a matte finish and is a limited edition shade. It has a slight hint of orange and is opaque, it’s also long lasting which tends to be the case with most matte lipsticks. I love brighter lipstick shades at this time of year and I’ve worn it a few times already.Next is the MAC Fashion Legacy Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolour (left swatch) which is also a warm red but is a more intense shade in comparison to Nutcracker Rouge (right swatch). The diamond shaped applicator is amazing as the point is perfect at applying the lipstick easily into the corners of your mouth and you can get a really smooth finish without needing lipliner.It has been a while since I last used a MAC mascara so was excited that the MAC Upward Lash Mascara was included. The brush is quite small which actually works a lot better than I originally thought as it allows you to get into the corners easily. It’s great at adding volume, length and curl to your lashes and doesn’t smudge.The MAC Basic Brush Set contains five different brushes and comes in a cute little striped pouch which is the perfect size for travelling. Included is the 129 Powder/Blush Brush, 190 Foundation Brush, 213 Fluff Brush, 209 Eye Liner Brush and the 316 Lip Brush. The brushes themselves are decorated with a cute nutcracker design and are all super soft.Overall I am in love with the MAC Nutcracker Sweet Collection, the packaging is all beautiful and the shades are gorgeous. I love it when MAC releases their new collections and I can’t wait to see what amazing collections they have planned for the year ahead.
