PitPat: A Day in the Life of my Cavapoo Puppy

Ever wondered what your dog gets up to when you’re out of the house? I always do! Me and my partner are always talking about what we think she is up to as she’s always asleep when we get back home, so we wonder if she sleeps all day or she tires herself out from playing. PitPat is an activity monitor for your dog, it attaches to the collar and then monitors their activity throughout the day including how long they spend playing and resting. I’m very conscious about what my puppy Luna eats and the quality of her food, so am equally interested in if she really is getting the right amount of exercise for her breed and age as her health is very important to me. The PitPat is a small device that has a velcro-like fastening to clip around your dogs collar, Luna hasn’t even noticed that it’s on! In the middle is an orange button with a paw engraved on the front, all you have to do is press this button and open up the app on your phone to sync it up to your phone and send over the data (it literally takes seconds). I was a little worried about how secure the PitPat would be on Lunas collar as she loves to run and roll around with all her doggy friends and I’m pleased to say that I now have no concerns as it’s very secure on her collar. The PitPat creates realistic and achievable goals based on your dogs breed, weight and age however you can change this and set your own goals if you want to. Every afternoon I quickly sync up the data with my phone and have a little look at what she has been up to and what adventures she has had that day. There are a few different charts which give you a detailed look at what your little friend has been up to, as you can see by the first one she hasn’t quite reached her goal for today and it says how many calories she has burned. The second chart shows how many minutes of exercise she has had each day, you can click on any of these to see a more detailed explanation. If you drag along the timeline to see exactly what your dog has been up to at certain times of the day, I was pleasantly surprised to find out that Luna sleeps the whole time when I’m out. As she’s still a puppy it’s really lovely to know that she’s perfectly fine and relaxes when she’s on her own. Also she gets a lot more exercise than I expected, as she’s still quite young she’s very active but I was surprised to see that on some of the days she got around 250 minutes of exercise! At least I don’t have to be concerned about her getting enough.I have loved using the PitPat and am excited to continue to use this over the colder months to ensure she gets enough exercise all year round. It’s so important to maintain the health of our furry friends and I recommend the PitPat to everyone who has a dog and is interested to see what they get up to on their own, but also to keep track of their exercise. There’s nothing more I love to do than play with Luna and take her out on new adventures, and her activity tracker shows just how much she loves it too!
