Pumpkin Picking

img_9994 img_0056 img_0055I’ve always bought my pumpkins from the supermarket and enjoyed looking through to find my favourite pumpkin, however I had never been pumpkin picking and it is something I had always wanted to do. I wasn’t sure if there was anywhere near me that did pumpkin picking but after a quick search online I found out that Millets Farm (somewhere I go a few times a year) actually was doing it this weekend! I wasn’t sure what to expect as had never been however was excited to find my perfect pumpkin.img_9988 img_9990 img_0022The weekend came round quickly and we made our way to Millets Farm, they always have fruit and vegetable picking in the summer so I don’t know why I didn’t think they would have pumpkin picking but was very happy that they did. We got our wheelbarrow and made our way to the field, all together they had grown over 9000 pumpkins this year so there was plenty to choose from!img_9992 img_9995img_0045At first I was on the hunt for the biggest pumpkin just like Aaron, however when I realised that I had to carve it I opted for a medium sized pumpkin instead. Aaron on the other hand went for the biggest one he could find (I could barely lift it up as it’s so big), I must admit it was really fun looking through them all trying to find the biggest but I love the shape of the one that I got and it’s the perfect size.img_0012 img_0011 img_0004I felt extremely autumnal with my plum coloured bobble hat and striped jumper, it’s also the first time I’ve got my tights out this year. I’m completely obsessed with this striped jumper as love the colours and that it’s ribbed, I thought it would look quite nice tucked into this scalloped edge skirt with my new ankle boots. I’m not quite sure why but I always find it hard to find ankle boots that I actually like, however picked these up about a week ago from Zara and I’m in love them.img_9996 img_0001All together we picked up five pumpkins as I wanted to get a few smaller ones too as thought they were really cute. I love the little stalks which they don’t keep on the supermarket ones as it makes them a little more quirky. I’m so happy that I went pumpkin picking this year and it’s definitely something that I’m going to do every year, it’s going to become a little tradition just like Christmas tree picking has become. Have you ever been pumpkin picking before?
