I love the summer, it’s my favourite time of the year and I like to completely change up my makeup routine as the hot weather means thick makeup easily melts off. I’m going to share my simple natural makeup routine for the summer so you can easily achieve a naturally flawless finish and not have to worry about your makeup melting off in the summer heat!

This is one of my favourite summer makeup looks as I ditched the heavy products and used glowy products that last all day, give me a natural finish and make me feel put together. However before I even start my makeup routine I like to use a gentle face exfoliator followed by my daily skincare routine including a good SPF. It’s important to leave a few minutes for your skincare products to settle into your skin as it creates a great base for your makeup.
The first step is perfecting a natural base using a light coverage foundation applied with a beauty blender, followed by a medium coverage concealer on any areas that need a little more attention. The beauty blender helps to create a flawless finish and I’ve found it helps my foundation last longer throughout the day, however I also finish with a translucent powder just to make sure that everything is set properly and won’t be impacted by the heat. In general you want to try and avoid heavy formulas, instead opting for something more lightweight and sheer.
Warm neutral tones are perfect for the summer to give you that bronzed glow, with my favourites being different shades of brown and nudes to keep the look more natural. The palette below is great for this as it has the perfect shades to create several different natural eye looks, however always use a high quality eyeshadow primer to set your eyeshadow and keep it from smudging throughout the day. Then finish off your eye look with a designer mascara to enhance your natural lashes by lengthening and volumising.
Carrying on with the bronzed glow vibe, I apply a small amount of contour to give some definition to my face followed by blush and my new favourite ‘no makeup’ highlighter to give that natural glow.
This makeup look wouldn’t be complete without enhancing your lips using a non-sticky lipgloss with a small hint of colour. I’m normally obsessed with lipsticks and wear them almost on a daily basis, however when I’m going for a more natural look I love lipgloss as it’s more understated yet still finishes off the look.
I love this simple natural makeup look for summer and it only takes me around 15 minutes in the morning to complete and I do this most days.
