Top 10 Winter Shades with Essie

Top 10 Winter Shades with EssieI always change my nail polish depending on the time of the year, in the summer I tend to wear a lot of bright and vibrant colours whereas in the winter I wear shades that are more toned down and darker. I thought for todays post it would be fun to share with you my top 10 winter shades! Now you might already know that the Essie are my favourite brand of nail polish and Fragrance Direct are the best place to purchase them from, it’s a lot more inexpensive as they are a fraction of the price! All of these shades I will be wearing throughout winter this year and there’s quite a mixture so I hope you like them as much as I do.winter essie nail polish The first shade is ‘Power Clutch’ which is a lovely deep grey-green, it’s quite an unusual shade and I hadn’t seen anything similar to it before. Also it’s lovely to wear around Christmas time with a sparkly topcoat over it, perfect for parties! Next is ‘Warm and ‘Toasty Turtle Neck’ which is one of the most lovely names for a nail polish I have ever heard. This dusty lavender shade is really pretty and great to add a little bit more colour to your outfit if you tend to wear darker clothes during this time of year.’ Truth or Flare’ is another great shade to add a little bit of colour and is a sandwashed denim. If you prefer neutrals then I have two which have become my favourite ever neutral shades, ‘Take it Outside’ a fresh taupe shade and ‘Urban Jungle’ which is an ever so pretty off-white. It looks even more lovely with a red glittery top coat however it ‘s also gorgeous on its own.winter shades essie nail polishI’ve included two red shades in my favourites as I feel like a red polish is a must-have for winter although I couldn’t decide which one I loved more so included both of them. ‘Dress to Kilt’ is slightly darker in comparison to ‘Forever Yummy’ which is brighter, they both create a beautiful glossy finish. Moving onto a sparkly garnet red, ‘Toggle to the Top. This will most likely be my Christmas day shade this year as it’s absolutely beautiful and lovely and glittery, I couldn’t think of a more perfect polish for the occasion! If you’re not that over-keen on glitters and prefer shimmers then you may like ‘It’s Genius’ which is a shimmery violet with beige undertones, I’m actually wearing this on my nails right now and always get a lot of compliments when I wear it. Finally, my last favourite is ‘Nothing Else Metals’ which is an incredible metallic purple! Even though I love all of them and they are all my favourites for winter this has to be one of the loveliest and most eye catching shade, it dries almost instantly so is my go-to shade when I’m in a rush and don’t have time to wait for it to dry.

Let me know if you liked my top 10 winter shades and if you also love Essie and purchase them from Fragrance Direct too. If there are any favourites of yours that I’ve missed I’d love to know what they are!

I love that grey green Essie colour – it’ll be perfect for a wedding I’m going to just after Christmas! I couldnt see it on Fragrance Direct – is it part of a set?

I love the way you’ve photographed these stacked on top of one another! I never used to be that bothered about Essie but I’ve been really into them lately. I’m loving In Stitches and Maximillion Strasse-Her at the moment. I love the look of that glittery red though!
