The Urban Decay Naked palettes are my favourite eyeshadow palettes and I always get excited when they release a new one, so when the Urban Decay Smoky Eye Palette was released I couldn’t resist! I love to create smoky eye looks and tend to wear them more over the colder months, so this will be perfect for autumn and winter. The packaging is the same style as the previous naked palettes, however it’s plastic with a magnetised closure with a beautiful smoky design all over. As usual there is a dual-ended brush which is actually my favourite out of all of the palettes, one end is a tapered crease brush and the other a smoky smudger brush.
There are twelve different shades included which are a mixture of mattes, shimmers and satins. I like the order in which they are set out in the palette as the first four are shimmers, the next four are satin finishes with the last four shades being matte. I much prefer this compared to them all being mixed together. I also love that it isn’t a ‘transitional’ smoky eye palette in my opinion as doesn’t just include silvers and blacks. There is a range of lovely warm bronzes, browns, taupes and lots of other beautiful shades.
High – shimmery cream, beautiful in the corner of your eyes
Dirtysweet – medium bronze
Radar – metallic taupe, one of my favourite shades from the palette
Armor – metallic silver taupe
Slanted – metallic gray
Dagger – medium charcoal with a light shimmer
Black Market – jet black with a satin finish
Smolder – deep plum taupe
Password – matte taupe
Whiskey – matte rich brown
Combust – matte soft pink taupe
Thirteen – light beige
I am head over heels in love with this palette, the shades are absolutely beautiful and the pigmentation is very good. I’ve been using this a lot lately and it’s going to be perfect for the colder months as this is when I much prefer creating smoky eye looks. Let me know if you’re obsessed with Urban Decay Naked palettes too and if you’ve tried out their latest edition, the smoky eye palette!
