I’ve been engaged for a few months now and wedding planning has officially started! As soon as we got back from holiday Aaron bought a few wedding magazines so I could have a look through them, however we hadn’t started planning seriously as we wanted a few months to enjoy our engagement. We’ve been discussing venues the past few months and even though there are lots of beautiful venues, we didn’t fall in love with any until I discovered an image on Pinterest (I love you Pinterest)! As you all know, Pinterest is THE best place for inspiration especially when it comes to planning any type of event, and whilst browsing I discovered a beautiful place in the South of France that we’ve both completely fallen head over heels in love with. We’re planning on visiting the French Chateau as well as a few other places while we’re down there, but it sounds perfect and the photographer that a lot of other couples have used for their wedding at this venue is incredibly talented (we’ve decided we want him to photograph our wedding too). So it looks like we might have found our dream venue and photographer, however we won’t know 100% until we go and visit!
Ever since discovering this fairytale chateau wedding planning has sped up, Aaron surprised me with some gorgeous planners and I’ve been writing down ideas and creating collages for inspiration. The National Wedding Show took place at the Excel in London last month which we both attended to help with ideas where we found a performer that we’ve jotted down on our ‘maybe’ list as he was incredible, and we gained lots of other amazing ideas too. There were people trying on wedding dresses as they were available to buy, and as much as I wanted to try one some myself I obviously didn’t want Aaron to see so I just held them up against myself instead and wow, they are heavy!
There is so much more I want to share about our plans however we’re still in the early stages and I don’t want to say too much as I’d love certain aspects to be a surprise, but also a secret that me and Aaron can have between us for a while before sharing with everyone else. I’m very excited to visit what looks like our dream venue so that we can start tailoring our planning around the venue and location if we love it as much as we anticipate. I’ll keep you updated with everything and will most likely be vlogging our trip to the South of France!
