I can’t believe that our little Luna turned 1 year last month, it has flown by so quickly and my life has completely changed since she joined our family. It’s hard to imagine what life was like before she arrived and it feels like she has been with us forever! It’s been a while since Luna was last featured here on my blog so I thought I would give you a little update. She absolutely loves cuddles on the sofa especially in the evening, she’s a massive foodie and loves nothing more than running around the fields near our house with all of her doggy friends and exploring the woods. Normally we walk her in the fields during the week as there are always so many dogs playing, then on weekends we normally take her to the woods.
The woods are her favourite place to run around and explore, we always walk different routes and go off track which she loves and gets super excited about. No matter where we go she always gets so much attention and she absolutely loves it as she wants to be everyones best friend.
I’m not a fan of the cold and I don’t deal with it very well (yes I am one of those people than complain about the cold all the time), however now that Luna is in our lives I have to go out twice a day to take her on her walks and sometimes that means embracing the cold and wet weather. I’ve been testing out some winter weather gear from Millets along with Aaron which has been perfect timing as there’s now a bitter chill in the air and all I want to do is wrap up warm. I’ve been relying on this Peter Storm insulated parka recently which is also waterproof and has a hood with a removable faux fur trim. Every time I wear this jacket I feel like someone has wrapped me up in a duvet, it keeps me warmer than any other coats I own and your don’t get any draughts which is amazing. Something else that is amazing about this jacket is that it has so many pockets, I don’t like to take a bag out with me when I’m walking Luna during the week so it’s perfect to fit poo bags and treats inside!
If you’re a regular reader then you might know that every autumn/winter I get a slight obsession with cable knit bobble hats. This Peter Storm hat is gorgeous and is not only cosy but actually keeps your ears warm and toasty. I’ve also been wearing these Thinsulate gloves in which I was surprised at how warm they kept my hands, although if I leave these lying around then Luna will run off with them to her bed.
Aaron has been wearing his Peter Storm jacket too and the other day when we walked Luna he wore a different jacket and instantly regretted it as it wasn’t as warm. It’s insulated and fully waterproof which is great as the weather is so unpredictable at the moment and you definitely don’t want to get caught in the rain without a waterproof jacket! Also you can zip up the jacket quite high so you don’t have any cold areas around your neck.
Aaron mentioned that you can’t feel any draughts with his jacket either and feels warm and insulated. I’ve actually just realised that we have matched our clothing with the red and grey theme, this actually happens a lot but we don’t ever realise until afterwards or when someone else mentions it (oops).
Normally when the air starts to have a bitter chill we don’t like to go out as much and would prefer to spend more time all cosy at home, however now we have to go for walks because of Luna. We do enjoy taking her out on little adventures and it’s so much better now that we can keep extra warm whilst doing so, as well as not put us off taking her places a little further away where we could get caught in the rain such as the woods.
After we took all the photos we came across thick layers of orange autumnal leaves and I couldn’t resist taking a few photos of Luna, if I only we noticed this spot beforehand (I would have taken all the photos here as it was beautiful) as the leaves were deep and so colourful as it was away from the walking path so they remained untouched. How cute does she look?!
It’s crazy how much our lives have changed since Luna came into our lives and next month marks 1 year since she joined our family. She’s such a friendly and loving dog, I really couldn’t ask for a better little pup! If you also have a dog in your family then I’d definitely recommend Millets for their winter gear, or just in general if you’re someone who likes to keep warm in the cold weather.

Luna is adorable! Autumn walks with her must be such a wonderful little moment to share just the three of you. I also complain about the cold a lot – outdoor clothing does have to be of great quality to keep you warm and healthy throughout the colder months!
